The Aquarium and Reptile Building was the last of the original eight buildings to be constructed.  The turtle tank became one of the favorite exhibits of children.  The turtle tank contained granite stonework and complete vegetation, and was home to many species.  Another building highlight was the Lake Wisconsin exhibit.  In 1968, construction also began on the Children’s Zoo area.
